Dr Una Buckley is an Irish consultant cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology, the branch of medicine focused on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). She qualified in medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and later earned membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), before completing advanced subspecialty training in Ireland, the United States (at the University of California, Los Angeles), and the United Kingdom at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
She also completed a PhD at University College Dublin, where her research examined innovative technologies to reduce arrhythmias following heart attacks. After several years working as a consultant electrophysiologist in London, she returned to Ireland in 2023 to take up a consultant role at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, where she continues to work in both general cardiology and highly specialised heart rhythm managementU
